![]() Kidney damage can be caused by diabetes or high blood pressure that directly affects the kidneys. What is a very high BUN level?Ī high BUN value can mean kidney injury or disease is present. If you have high creatinine levels, it may be indicative of kidney disease, and you should visit your doctor to establish the best course of treatment. You can lower creatinine levels by eating more fiber and less protein, limiting intense exercise, staying away from creatine, and trying supplements like chitosan. How can I lower my BUN and creatinine levels? A medication wouldn’t be recommended to lower BUN levels. A low-protein diet can also help lower BUN levels. Proper hydration is the most effective way to lower BUN levels. General reference ranges for a normal BUN level are as follows: Adults up to 60 years of age: 6-20 mg/dL. Needing to go the bathroom (urinate) frequently or infrequently. In addition, your BUN levels may be checked if you are experiencing symptoms of later stage kidney disease, such as: What are the symptoms of high BUN levels? Other possible causes of an elevated BUN include dehydration and heart failure. If your BUN is more than 20 mg/dL, your kidneys may not be working at full strength. Normal blood contains 7-20 mg/dl of urea. If your kidneys are not working well, the urea nitrogen will stay in the blood. What level of BUN indicates kidney failure? Urea nitrogen levels tend to increase with age. But normal ranges may vary, depending on the reference range used by the lab and your age. Any derangement in the values signifies the impaired kidney function. In general, around 6 to 24 mg/dL (2.1 to 8.5 mmol/L ) is considered normal. The normal value of creatinine in urine is found 500 to 2000 mg/day and may vary with age. Creatinine is filtered by the kidneys and excreted in urine. Urine creatinine: This test measures the amount of creatinine in urine. If the GFR is high then it may indicate chances of kidney failure. The normal value in males is 97 to 137 mL/min and females is 88 to 128mL/min. It is also done to estimate the glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Creatinine is the waste product released when the muscle is put to work. Creatinine levels may be decreased slightly in pregnancy.Ĭreatinine clearance: This test determines the kidney functioning and suggests kidney dysfunction or decreased blood flow to kidneys as in congestive heart failure. If the level of creatinine is more than the normal value it indicates kidney conditions such as glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis, acute tubular necrosis, kidney stones, prostate disease, and complications of diabetes. Normal value of creatinine is 0.8 – 1.4mg/dL Females have low creatinine than males because of the muscle mass. Creatinine is filtered from blood and excreted in urine by the kidneys. Creatinine is a byproduct of creatine produced when muscles are put to use. Decreased concentration of BUN is not common and may occur in cases of malnutrition and severe kidney disease.īlood Creatinine: This test measures the amount of creatinine in blood which signifies the filtering capability of kidneys. Elevated levels suggest impaired kidney function such as acute or chronic kidney disease, decreased blood flow to kidneys as in congestive heart failure and shock. The normal values of nitrogen in blood urea ranges from 7 to 20mg/dL. Urea is a waste product released from degradation of protein, which is filtered in the blood and excreted in urine by kidneys. ![]() I used Nero CD/DVD speed to test all of the drives creation time and benchmarks as well for both CDs and DVDs. The drive I received for review from Samsung was a bare OEM drive, so no unboxing today, and not a lot of pictures: I’ve put the Samsung up against four other drives for comparison, and interestingly, during my testing I found the Super Write-Master will burn a 16x DVD at over 18X speeds, coming in at just a little over 5 minutes to burn a DVD, with the closest competitor coming in at almost 6 minutes. Another great feature of this drive is the SpeedPlus which is an optomised algorithm for writing at the fastest possible speeds, along with that the drive also features Speed Adjustment Technology, low noise and Buffer Under Run Technology. The Super Write-Master features LightScribe, which I’m sure everyone knows about by now, but it’s main feature is of course the speed of the drive, writing DVDs at 22x, though there is no media capable of that yet that I know of. Today I’ve got a combination review and article for you, more of a roundup, or comparison piece really. IDE is becoming obsolete, with SATA becoming the new standard, first it was hard drives now more and more companies are coming out with optical SATA drives as well. Everyone has optical drives and as time has passed they’ve gotten faster and faster, one problem I’ve encountered though is that for newer drives there is no media for the latest speeds, something I’ve never been able to quite figure out. This free Android drawing app comes in-app purchases for advanced features. It's better than a real paper pad, though, because you can then digitally share these scribbles with others. While Krita (above) just pips it for value and new tools, Infinite Painter has a simpler UI and is approachable, just like Procreate. They are then divided and sent to different machines of the grid. When the task is assigned, it gets broken into different subtasks. The provider gives permission to the user to run anything on its computer, which is a potential security risk for the whole network. Since it is responsible for administering the network and making sure a provider is not overloaded with tasks. Grid Computing shows the clustered and balanced lifestyle by living, laughing and computing in harmony.īeing the control node is not that easy. The computers therefore are in constant balance / switching between being a user or a provider, based on their needs. Whenever the computer is not in direct use, it contributes its resources to the network. Then the Control Node gives the user access to the resources available. A loosely-coupled computer makes a request to the control node. Ĭontributing computing power to a Grid is relatively simple. The virtualization of a single-system image – also called virtual organization – granting users and applications seamless access to IT capabilities is a very powerful feature. ![]() The fact that they are allowed to use different OS, is one of the advantages and distinguishing parts of grid computing, in comparison to other distributed computing architectures. If the nodes use different operating systems in a single grid computing network, they are called heterogeneous networks. ![]() The nodes may consist of machines using the same operating system, transforming the computer collective into a homogeneous network. The Control Node is the executor of the Middleware. This is mostly an open, standardized protocol connecting the grid’s resources with high-level-applications. For controlling the network and its resources, a Middleware protocol is needed. Instead of using a lot of CPU cores of one computer, the grid contains multiple cores that are spread across various locations in a large or even world-wide network. The machines are connected via Ethernet or Internet. Here’s a simple overview: Picture 2 | Grid Computing Architecture, adapted from These nodes have designated positions in a simple hierarchy, beginning with the (a) applications, then the (b) Middleware, the (c) available resources and the (d) computer itself that connects to the grid. User Node: Computer which uses the resources of the network.Provider Node: Computer which provides its resources to the network resource pool.Control Node: Computer (Server / Group of Servers) which administers the whole network and keeps account of the resources in the network pool. The Grid Computing Network generally consists of three types of computers, the so-called Nodes : įoster and Kesselman postulate the following definition for Grid Computing:Ī computational grid is a hardware and software infrastructure that provides dependable, consistent, pervasive, and inexpensive access to high-end computational capabilities. By simply plugging the computer into the power grid, the computing starts. Why is it called Grid? Well, just like with electricity, the power comes “out of the socket”. Developed to solve computationally intensive operations, it can be considered the Kryptonite of distributed computing. īecause the virtual supercomputer is generated out of a cluster of coupled computers, Grid Computing is known as a subset of distributed computing. The computers thereby contribute resources, such as processing power, memory and storage capacity, along the network. This means, despite having different geographic locations, they work like a virtual supercomputer. Instead of computing a task that would be rather difficult for a single machine, the computers combine their forces. Grid Computing describes a network of decentral, distributed computers working together on a specific task. Theoretically, both bumps and passes are hits made with two hands, but volleys are hits made with one hand. One of the three most common types of hits found in volleyball is a bump, a volley, or a spike, and each of these is accompanied by a specific technique for how players hit the ball. Understanding the various types of hits is critical to becoming a successful player in the game. Both of these fouls can result in a point for the opposing team, so it is important for players to remain aware of their positioning and stay within the rules.īecause volleyball is a fast-paced and exciting sport, players must learn the art of passing, setting, and killing (or hitting). The second foul is a foot fault, which is when a player’s foot lands on the court outside of their designated area. The first is a net violation, which occurs when a player touches the net with their body or any other object. In volleyball, there are two main fouls that can be committed. Volleyball is a sport that requires agility, strength, and skill to master. Net fouls can be called either by the referee or by the players themselves, and they are an important part of the game. The ball must pass over the net in order for the rally to remain legal. Net fouls are illegal, and if they happen they result in a point for the opposing team. This can happen either on the serve or during a rally. While a foot fault may appear to be a minor error, it can have a significant impact on the game, so players must be aware and adhere to the court’s boundaries.Ī net foul in volleyball is when a player touches the net or gets part of their body on the net while the ball is still in play. Players must pay close attention to their foot placement as well as ensure that all steps taken are in line with the service area. As a result, any steps taken prior to serve must be cautious, as a careless step can result in a foot fault and, as a result, a costly point that could determine the outcome of the match. When the server’s feet are placed outside of the service area before the ball is hit, there is a foot fault. If you serve your second serve incorrectly, you lose the point, which can be embarrassing, as well as jeopardize your rhythm and momentum. When a tennis player commits a foot fault, he or she may face a hefty fine. When a player hits the ball in a single fluid motion, he or she can pass the service line. What does a foot fault on a volleyball stand mean?
